There are a lot of opinions of how to be saved, now days. Yet there is only one way that Jesus has laid out in His word HIS divine plan of salvation. The following is God's Biblical plan of salvation. It includes FIVE steps in order to be saved. Here are those five steps to be saved. Step One: HEAR THE WORD
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13) How Then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? (15) And how shall they preach except they be sent?....." (Romans 10:13-15) Second: Believe The Gospel "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believed not shall be dammed." (Mark 16:16) Third: Repent Of Your Sins
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the Name Of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins." Be Baptized In JESUS' Name
And Receive The gift of The HOLY GHOST.
Many people tell you that all you have to do is state the sinners prayer and then they are saved. If that is your way of repenting, from your heart fine. Nevertheless, its not in the scripture, but it will do. So how does one really get SAVED, for real.? Acts 2:38 breaks it down plainly. In the book of Acts 2:1-4 is when the Holy Ghost first fell. As a matter of fact, the book of Acts is the history of the church. So if you want to know how to be saved you must go to the beginning, the beginning of the church that is. Acts 2:37 is the first altar call after Jesus rose from the dead and after the Holy Ghost fell upon men. When those whom Peter was preaching to began to be moved by Peter's words asked, "What must I do to be saved?" Notice how Peter replied to their question. "Then Peter said unto the REPENT.... Most people always ask God to forgive them not knowing that that is not repentance. What is repentance? Repentance means to ask forgiveness and forsaking of your sin. Repent means, Im sorry and I'm going to STOP doing the things that cause disappointment to the Lord. So if you tell the Lord that your sorry, yet you don't change what your doing, then you have not really repented. Shall we continue in sin?..God Forbid!! Let me ask you a question? If you practice sin everyday what does the Bible call you? A sinner, of course. A sinner is one who lives in sin, everyday. Just because you make a mistake or sin in one day does not mean that you are a sinner. It's when you practice sin everyday that makes you a sinner. JESUS came to save us from sin and our sinful lifestyles, a lifestyle that can kill us naturally and spiritually, by sending us to a burning hell, which is the second death. Peter also told the crowd to "Be baptized everyone of you in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST for the remission of sins." Notice, in Acts 2:38 it says, "Then Peter said unto them, Repent and Be Baptized." Notice the conjunction word, AND, that connects repentance and baptism. So when you repent then you MUST be baptized. The word baptism comes from the Greek word baptism, which means to be submerged completely. "We are buried with HIM in baptism." Being baptized is identifying with Jesus death and burial. A person is not buried unless the body is completely covered beneath the earth. So then, a person is not baptized unless one is completely submerged or buried under the watery grave. Sprinkling is not biblical. Water baptism by submersion is displayed as part of salvation over and over again. (John 3:5) says except a man is born of the water and the spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. So in order to be saved, you must REPENT and BE BAPTIZED.." Now, let me take deal with the subject of baptism. I call this subject the BIRTH OF CONFUSION. I call it that because many people, by tradition have been baptized in the titles, father, son and Holy Ghost. These are character titles, but not the name of God. JESUS is the name of the father, son and Holy Ghost. In other words, JESUS was manifested as the father in creation (John 1:3) the son in redemption (Matthew 1:21) and He is the Holy Ghost that dwells in us (John 14:16-17). Father, Son and Holy Ghost is WHAT HE is, but JESUS Is Who He Is. His name is JESUS!!. JESUS is like TIDE, He gets the dirt out. Last point about baptism, is, have you ever seen anyone who has repeated the sinners prayer or been baptized in the name of the Father, Son & Holy Ghost from Acts to Revelation? Study to show thyself approved unto God....I'll make this challenge to all of you who are reading this site. If you can find anyone, between Acts and Revelation, who was baptized in the name of the father, son and Holy Ghost I'll give you a hundred dollars. If not, then I command you to be baptized in the name of JESUS. The confusion of baptism comes from Matthew 28:19 where the combination of Father, son and Holy Ghost is used. Many people don't understand this passage of scripture because you must study it in order to gain an understanding of baptism. When studying the word you must always consider three things. First, that the Bible is divided into three parts. Old Testament, The Gospels and The New Testament or the epistles. Second, Who is speaking in the text that you are reading and third, who is being spoke to. So when studying the scripture, you must ask yourself three questions: Who's speaking, who's being spoken to and when is it being spoken? Let's take these three questions and apply them to Matthew 28:19. When did Matthew 28:19 take place, before or after the cross? Matthew 28:1-6, let's us know that Jesus was risen, so this account is taking place after the cross. Secondly, who's speaking in Matthew 28:19. We can clearly see that it is Jesus speaking because it states, "and Jesus came and spake unto them." (vs. 18). Now, who is being spoken to in 28:19? Verse 16 of chapter 28 makes it plain, "The the DISCIPLES went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them."(vs.16). So in a nutshell, Jesus Is speaking to the disciples, up on a mountain in Galilee, after He is risen from the dead. There were only eleven disciples because Judas had killed himself, so 12 minus one is 11. So there were 11 disciples. Now look at verse 19. "Go ye (the disciples) therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the N A M E of the father, and of the son and of the Holy Ghost." Question, what is the Name? Let's keep in mind before we go on, who Jesus was talking to. THE DISCIPLES (11). So if Jesus was talking to the disciples, then He wasn't talking to you and I cause we weren't there, right? RIGHT!! So He was talking to the disciples, and them only. So if we take God at His word, He was talking to his disciples. The only way we even know about this conversation between the disciples and Jesus is because they wrote about it. Now, the next question is, when did they do what Jesus Told them to do? Now we look at ACTS 2:38, at the first altar call and see how they applied this commandment from Jesus. Now remember the three questions: Who's speaking, who's being spoken to and when is it taking place, before or after the cross? Let's answer the question of time first. When was this account taking place? It was after the cross but also, it was after the HOLY GHOST was given to the disciples. Acts 2:1-4 shows that they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance. So now they have the Holy Ghost, which Jesus said, "It shall bring all things to your remembrance." Also, the Holy Ghost brings revelation. So now they had the revelation of the NAME. To prove it, look at the text. "Then Peter said unto them, repent and be baptized everyone of you in the NAME of JESUS CHRIST.." (Acts 2:38) Wait a minuet, hold up...I thought that Jesus told them in Matthew 28:19 to baptize in the NAME of the Father, Son and The HOLY GHOST? That's exactly what they did..they baptized in the NAME. Did Peter go off on HIS own and change what JESUS had said? NO. The next question is who was speaking? IT WAS PETER, the spokesperson. So if Peter was speaking something erroneous, the other disciples would have corrected him. Let's look at Acts 2:14, "But Peter standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice...." So the eleven stood up with Peter to back him up and confirm what he was saying. Had he said something different than what JESUS had said, the disciples would have corrected Peter. But Peter said exactly what Jesus had told them. They baptized in the NAME. That NAME was JESUS, and still is JESUS!! Let me just point out one thing. There was Peter and the eleven disciples. I thought there was only eleven disciples? There was twelve again, because Judas was replaced in Acts 1:26, Judas was replaced with Matthias. So, you will never find, from Acts to Revelation anywhere where those disciples, or anyone ever baptized in the name of the father, son and Holy Ghost. IF YOU FIND IT I'll GIVE YOU ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS AND STOP PREACHING IT!! You won't find it though. But you WILL find everyone getting baptized in the NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. So the scripture is now set forward...So what are you going to do...stick with tradition or do what the Lord says to do? In wrapping all this up, I must make it plain that, now matter how you get baptized, you must first BELIEVE the GOSPEL and accept JESUS as LORD and SAVIOR in your heart or no matter what name you get baptized in, you will go down a dry devil and come up a wet one.....So you must repent in order to be saved and in order to receive the Holy Ghost, cause God looks at the heart, man looks at the outer appearance but God looks at the heart. You can fool men, sometimes, but you can't fool God no time cause He seas what we can't even see. So get saved today!! In Acts 19:1-4 when the disciples that Paul found in Ephesus they were re-baptized in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST and received the HOLY GHOST. They were church people who did not have it like the Bible says and when they realized this they were re-baptized in JESUS NAME. You might have been baptized in the Father, son and Holy Ghost and that's alright. But now that you know about JESUS NAME what are you going to do? Do what they did. Get re-baptized in JESUS NAME. What is it going to hurt? I rather have it and not need it than to need it and not have it!! GET BAPTIZED IN JESUS NAME...email us if you want to know of a church and pastor who baptizes in JESUS name and we will gladly assist you in finding the right church. God bless you and we'll see you in the water. (ACTS 2:38). Remember: ACTS 2:38 You may search our web site for all documents containing matching words or patterns.
